Makena disclosed that she knew she was special and gay many years ago after interrogating her feelings.

Speaking during a session on the TEDx Talks channel where she appeared as a guest speaker, Makena said she knew about her s3xual orientation a long time ago but took her a lot of time to accept herself for who she is

“I remember for the first time in my life after very many years, I looked at the mirror and said to myself ‘I am gay, I am unique and this is my truth,” Makena said.

Makena Njeri came out clearly stating that making it known that she was gay and in love with a fellow woman Michelle Ntalami was a long tedious journey.
