THIS IS WHAT PUSHED RAILA TO GIVE TUJU A POWERFUL POSITION IN AZIMIO.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has honored president Uhuru Kenyatta’s request to remember Raphael Ruju.

The head of state had recently urged the ODM boss to “take care of Tuju” days after he relinquished his services as the Jubilee secretary general and it seems Raila has fulfilled his end of the bargain.

The president who spoke during the Jubilee National Delegates Convention at KICC asked ODM leaders not to mistreat Tuju.

“This man Tuju loves his country, please I hand him over to you ODM on whatever he is looking for, he is our Jubilee man and doesn’t frustrate him,” Uhuru said.

At the same time, president Kenyatta asked Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho who is the ODM deputy party leader to hold his hand.

On Tuesday, the opposition leader through a statement by Dennis Onyango announced that Raphael Tuju will officially be the new executive director of Azimio secretariat, and it will take immediate effect.

Below was the official statement disclosing Tuju’s new role in Azimio:

“The Rt. Hon Raila Odinga, who is the AZIMIO Presidential Candidate, has appointed Hon. Raphael Tuju to be the Executive Director of the AZIMIO Secretariat. The appointment, which Hon. Tuju has accepted, takes immediate effect.

A communication specialist by training, Hon Tuju has decades of experience in politics and government, having served as member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister and Jubilee Party Secretary General.

The AZIMIO Coalition party brings together over 20 political parties with diverse regional strengths, opinions and a myriad of leadership that represent the face of Kenya.

As Executive Director, Hon. Tuju will coordinate all member parties of AZIMIO and will lead the strategic and program teams that will work to ensure AZIMIO victory in the August elections.
