Gachagua in Panic Mode

During a rally in Vihiga County today, seasoned politician Raila Odinga accused Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of being embroiled in a substantial corruption scandal, totaling millions of dollars.

The spotlight on Gachagua’s actions intensified after revelations surfaced, alleging that he and his family received substantial sums from government contracts during his tenure as the Member of Parliament for Mathira Constituency.

Odinga, also the leader of the opposition Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, specifically pointed fingers at Gachagua for leveraging his influence to amass wealth for himself and his family, allegedly at the expense of the people in Mathira Constituency.

Instances of purported corruption cited by Odinga include the irregular awarding of contracts for road construction and the procurement of medical supplies.

“The people of Vihiga and all Kenyans deserve leaders who are honest, transparent, and accountable. Rigathi Gachagua has shown that he is none of these things,” emphasized Odinga.

“He has abused his position of power to accumulate wealth for himself and his family, while neglecting the needs of the people he was elected to serve.”

Odinga called upon President William Ruto to take decisive action against Gachagua, urging either his resignation or dismissal from office.

Additionally, he implored relevant authorities to conduct thorough investigations into the alleged corruption and ensure those responsible face legal consequences.

In response, Gachagua vehemently denied the corruption allegations, labeling them as politically motivated attempts to tarnish his reputation. He maintained his innocence and pledged to clear his name of any wrongdoing.

The accusations against Gachagua have triggered public outrage and widespread calls for accountability. Civil society organizations and anti-corruption agencies are demanding a transparent and comprehensive investigation into the matter.

The scandal has also placed significant pressure on President Ruto, who has vowed to combat corruption and champion good governance.
