Govt Forced to Recall Birth and Death certificate After Huge Blunder

The Ministry of Interior has nullified numerous birth and death certificates in Migori and Nyandarua Counties.

The State Department of Immigration and Citizen Services announced on Tuesday that applicants have been advised to reapply due to the loss of booklets at the registration offices.

In Nyandarua County, birth notification registration booklets (B1) were lost at the County Central Office.

“The department hereby cautions the general public that said B1 booklets have been canceled thereby rendering them invalid,” read part of the statement.

At least 50 booklets were lost at the registration offices.

The department called upon individuals with the listed serial numbers to return them to the Secretary, Civil Registration Services, Hass Plaza.

In Migori County, the department revealed the loss of 12 death certificate books. All death certificates within the lost books have been invalidated, and individuals possessing certificates with the listed serial numbers are urged to return them to the main office, as stated in the notice. The loss of these death certificates in Migori occurred at the county civil registration office.
