Governor Kawira On the Spot For Issuing a Cheque With a Mistake

Governor Kawira Mwangaza recently disbursed a cheque to support the Imenti Central ECDE and VTC Projects.

However, this routine transaction took an unexpected turn, capturing the scrutiny of eagle-eyed netizens. The peculiarity that raised eyebrows was a conspicuous error on the cheque itself.

The numerical figure on the cheque displayed a sum of 6,300,000 Kenyan shillings, but the written words spelled it as “Six Million Three Thousand Kenyan Shillings.”

This discrepancy in representation perplexed and intrigued Kenyans, igniting a diverse range of reactions across social media and the public.

The mismatch between numerical and verbal values on the cheque drew considerable attention and generated significant discussions amongst the country’s populace.

According to experts Any change, even if initialed, could be considered suspicious, and cause for the bank to refuse to accept the check (they may still accept it at their discretion). It’s better to be safe than sorry, so write out a new check that is correct.
