Dp Gachagua Breaks Protocol

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday broke protocol and called on former Starehe MP Charles Njagua aka Jaguar to invite President William Ruto to speak at the Kenya Music Festival Winners State Concert.

The Deputy President said the move was informed by the intention to keep the mood of the concert that was held at State House, Nakuru.

Gachagua said he decided to have it that way because Jaguar is the arts representative within the executive wing of the government.

“Because we knew the talent here, these people were in Nyeri and I was told the talent that was there nikaona hata sisi watu wa Executive tujipange kidogo tusikuwe ambushed.

“Hata sisi kwa executive tuko na mtu wetu na huyo ndio nataka akuje atayarishe rais so that we keep the mood and the whole atmosphere in the hall. Tuko na Charles Njagua Kanyi from executive kuja hapa umkaribishe Rais,” the DP said.

Usually, it is the deputy president who invites the president to make his remarks whenever they are together at an event.

Jaguar briefly performed his song ‘Kigeugeu’ as Ruto walked up to the podium to make his address.

Jaguar had been appointed a Chief Administrative Secretary before the court halted the process.

State House Nakuru was hosting the Winners of the 95th Kenya Music Festival 2023.

President William Ruto who was gracing the event was accompanied by his wife, First Lady Rachel Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Host Governor Susa Kihika, Cabinet Secretaries Ezekiel Machogu (Education) and Ababu Namwamba( Sports) among other leaders.
