Result of Azimio and Kenya Kwanza First Talks

Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la Umoja teams of negotiators met on Wednesday, 9th August at Bomas Kenya to kick off talks that are meant to end the grandstanding between the opposition and the ruling alliance.

After the first meeting that was termed successful by both Kalonzo Musyoka and Kenya Kwanza’s Kimani Ichung’wa, the teams agreed that they would meet on Monday to continue with the talks.

Kalonzo who leads the opposition team while addressing members of the media after the meeting said that the they had agreed set up two technical teams.

“Speakers of both Houses will provide Hansard reporters because documents will be generated and they will be presented on the floors of the Senate and National Assembly,” he said.

He added that they are yet to agree on the agenda items to be discussed, affirming that there was good faith from both sides in today’s meeting.

“We are yet to agree on the agenda items. When we meet again we will agree on how to frame the agenda,” he stated.

Kalonzo delivered good news to Kenyans after the first meeting assuring them that they will see a good order in the coming days as far as talks are concerned.

“The meeting had a good demonstration of faith. We will not discuss the matters out there over the weekend. You will see good order,” he said.
