DETAILS OF RUTO’S MEETING WITH MPs SPOUSES

President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto hosted spouses of MPs, a meeting that has elicited mixed reactions.

In a post shared on Friday, March 31, Rachel stated that the meeting focused on areas of partnership between Mama Doing Good, an initiative of the First Lady, and the MPs wives.

During the meeting, Ruto expressed his commitment to working with all legislators for the sake of Kenyans.

Ruto urged them to support their husbands in ensuring his plan to reverse climate change is achieved by planting trees.

“Greening Kenya is a collective effort; it is not so much a president’s initiative. We all need to be committed to reversing the effects of climate change,” Ruto said.

Rachel encouraged the spouses to adopt a forest to support the government’s target of growing 15 billion trees by 2032.
