SEVERAL INJURED AS DEMONSTRATION TURNS UGLY

Ministry of Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans of their safety on Monday March 20 even as the Azimio la Umoja coalition plans to hold a mass protest.

 In a press statement on Sunday, CS Kindiki said security officers shall ensure there is peace amid the protests and that no life or property is lost or destroyed by the people exercising their rights through demonstrations. 

The National Police Service (NPS) has announced that the planned Azimio la Umoja protests set for Monday are unlawful.

Nairobi Police Commander Bungei has said no protests will be allowed tomorrow claiming the Azimio notice was filed late, assuring of security measures.

According to latest updates shared by NTV Kenya, tension is high after several people were left nursing serious injuries following peace demonstrations which turned ugly in Kisumu.

This comes ahead of planned mass protest by Azimio la Umoja coalition. The protests are planned to take place tomorrow country wide. Source, NTV Kenya.
