Days after taking the oath of office, the Senate and the National Assembly are locked in a fight over which bicameral parliament is superior.

Senators want Speaker Amason Kingi to protect the House against actions by MPs aimed at sidelining the Senate’s constitutional mandate.

They accuse the National Assembly of increasingly violating their rights and privileges, including passing Bills without their input.
