Outrage around the country as it emerges that there are mysterious men who have infiltrated Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission database and can do anything at will.

An independent audit of the entire IEBC voting systems has confirmed that 14 Returning Officers ROs have mysteriously been running the IEBC systems all along.

These unothorised officers, according to the audit report, can delete, add, insert, change, trigger, truncate, and update the register at will.

Further, the detailed report showed that a user going by a moniker Postgress had been accorded super-user access privileges; meaning he could step in any time and fill data that is needed on behalf of any Kenyan. This done entirely online.

The Audit firm KPMG also established that the 14 men in the name of Returning Officers ROs were not gazetted despite having worked in previous elections.

It was also revealed that the digital ROs had a backing of 513 generic accounts in Integrated Database Management System IDMS against 9 genuine accounts and had full access to the voters register in the IDMS.

“In the IEBC’s official Integrated Database Management System, the mysterious ROs are referred to as ‘Embakasi South clerks’ and ‘IT users’”.

“Two RO accounts named Balambala-ro and Mbalambala-ro existed in the system. Only one Balambala is gazetted,” KPMG stated.

The data seen by KPMG indicated that some voters had registered using duplicate or fake documents as others registered twice in previous elections.

These shocking development is coming at the time Chairman Wafula Chebukati had assured the country that their systems were tamper proof.

In 2017 general election, the then NASA leader Raila Odinga cried foul when it emerged that Jubilee Party had won the election and had quite a number of MPs who had been declared to have won when on the ground they had no following. He would then refer to this as ‘Computer chicks’.
