A serving United States senator, Tiara Mack has caused a stir online after she shared a video of herself twerking.
In the video she shared on TikTok, the lawmaker, 28, can be seen wearing a yellow bikini. She is then seen twerking upside down, with her head on the ground while she uses her hands to support herself.

The video has drawn criticism from many who felt it was inappropriate for a serving senator to twerk publicly in such a manner. But she later responded and defended her right to twerk.
The video was her encouraging people to vote for her so she could get re-elected.
Tiara Mack is from the US state of Rhode Island. She is a Democrat representing District 6 and is the first openly LGBTQ Black person elected to the Rhode Island Senate.
