DIDMUS BARASA TALKS ABOUT DUMPING RUTO AND UDA PARTY

Days after reports emerged that Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa could be planning to ditch Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA Party for CS Eugene Wamalwa’s Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K), the MP has come out to clear the air.

This was after the legislator was advised by Wamalwa to join him, claiming he (Wamalwa) had been Barasa’s political father and had done alot for him including campaigning for his 2017 elections.

But speaking to the press on Thursday, Barasa refuted claims of ditching Ruto and joining Wamalwa’s party, claiming all the reports that the Defence CS had said about him were all false

“Wamalwa claimed that he introduced me to politics, he went further to claim he bought me my Prado car and that I lived in his house when I first came to Nairobi as an MP. ” said Barasa.

He added that he was first introduced to politics by Musalia Mudavadi in 2013 and never at any given time helped by Wamalwa.

While deconstructing Wamalwa’s sentiments, Didmus said he is a self-made politician and the CS should not drag him into his rhetorics. The MP urged Western Kenya people to shun away from the party, claiming

“As MPs from Western Kenya, we are not going to join your party because of your blackmails. You wanted to blackmail me so that I can join your DAP-Kenya party. I want to tell you that I am ready to face your DP-K party in August and I will never join you. I will remain in UDA” stated Barasa
