VIDEO OF PRISON WARDEN COMMITING SUICIDE INSIDE PRISON AREA

A prison warder identified as Felix kiprono  on Tuesday killed himself at the Industrial Area prison in Nairobi in a suspected case of depression.

According to the warders at the facility, they were shocked to find out that one of them had died mysteriously at work. The prison officer was then taken to the mortuary as investigation into his death kicked off.

Staff at the remand prison said they heard and reported gunshots, initially suspecting that the facility was under attack.

They later found out that the warden had committed suicide.

The warder had exhibited signs that he was ‘unhappy’ with the deployment to the watch though he did not raise an official complaint.

According to Save.org, risk factors do not cause or predict a suicide, rather they are characteristics that make it more likely an individual will consider, attempt or die by suicide.
