Well, International Kenyan Comedian Elsa Majimbo- who is also a victim of cyberbullying- has also come out to expose this phenomenon that is currently rampant among her fellow countrymen.

Who is Elsa Majimbo?
Elsa Majimbo is a Kenyan online comedian who first gained recognition during the 2020 quarantine period. Elsa occasionally shared several home-based videos to her fans and netizens online. Out of her mocking humour, Elsa gained praise in top media outlets that are mostly based in South Africa and the United States.

Elsa’s Relationship With Kenya
Before her rise to fame, Elsa frequently used to trend on the Kenyan online platforms for the wrong reasons. The comedian faced trolls and bullying from Kenyans, sourced by the fact that ” her jokes were not funny. ” In many interviews, Elsa has always revealed that her motherland has never celebrated her. On most occasions, she has frequently stated that her jokes are universal and many locals don’t find her funny.

After her shot to fame, the criticism indeed reduced. But for Elsa, it has never been easy forgetting the woes she underwent in her own country.

Elsa Majimbo’ s Emotional Interview
In a recent interview from one of the top International media AB Talks, the comedian literally cried on camera after she recalled her tough times while trying to thrive in the harsh Kenyan environment.

” I have a very bad relationship with Nairobi. I think I have faced a lot of bullying there. . . I will never forget the hurtful things they said about me, and I really cried. ” She emotionally stated.

The 19-year-old further revealed that she has another home, based in South Africa and she is indeed proud of that.

What are Elsa Majimbo’ s Achievements?
Elsa Majimbo has so far won the People’s Choice Award for Favourite African Social Star in 2020. Ironically, she was more honoured abroad more than in her own country. Nevertheless, Majimbo was again awarded early this year by the Forbes Woman Africa Awards and was also crowned the entertainer of the year. Among other awarded personalities was the former Liberian President Ellen Johnson.

It is high time Kenyans start reinforcing their own talents. The stone which builders reject will always become the chief cornerstone.
