TOP POLICE INSPECTOR IN ICU

Details of Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai medical condition remain a secret six days after he admitted to hospital.

According to sources, the police boss fell ill on Thursday night and was rushed to the Aga Khan Hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to reports, two days later, he was transferred to the High dependency Unit (HDU) before he was transferred to the general ward at the facility on Monday.

Mutyambai senior colleagues and aides declined to comment on the matter with some saying they were not even aware that the police boss was sick and hospitalised.

However, some colleagues said prior to his being hospitalised, the police boss had been away from the office for some time, reportedly seeking medical attention. 

By Tuesday evening, according to People Daily, the IG had reportedly fully recovered but remained in hospital for further observation.

In cases where the IG is suspended from office or incapable of performance of his functions, the President may appoint another person to perform the duties.
