DRAMA AS 8 PEOPLE ARE ARRESTED FOR CELEBRATING MAGUFULI’S DEATH.

Police in Tanzania have arrested two people in Manyara found celebrating the death departed President John Pombe Magafuli.

Eight people in Manyara have been arrested by the police for celebrating the death of President Magufuli. The fallen President died of a heart condition on March 17, 2021. He will be buried on Friday, March 26, in his ancestral home in Chato, Geita.” Said Tanzania updates

The news comes hours after the body of the now former President was taken to Uhuru stadium where prayers were conducted and the public allowed to view him.

In an emotional ceremony, Janet Magufuli could not hold back her tears as she sat next to her husband’s casket throughout the ceremony.

The newly sworn in President Samia Suluhu Hassan was called upon to continue the legacy of the departed President in clear view of the challenges ahead of her.

During the swearing in ceremony, President Samia Suluhu called on unity in the country as well as between political parties including those from the opposition parties to drive the agenda of the country.

All eyes will be on the country’s choice for the Vice-President position as the ruling party CCM is set to meet and deliberate on the issue very soon.

President John Pombe Magufuli passed away on 17th March from heart complications while receiving treatment in the city of Dar es Salaam.

His body will move through different cities before it is taken to his home in Chato, Geita where he will be laid to rest on March 26th. The burial date has been declared a national holiday in Tanzania.
