KENYANS MOURN A POPULAR ACTOR

The level of security in Kenya has deteriorated. Actor Kenneth Magawe is one of the many Kenyans who has lost their lives to street thugs. On Saturday night while going home to Kasarani he met his death in the vilest of ways.

The Kenyan film industry is in mourning after the death of young and upcoming actor Kenneth Magawe.

The actor is reported to have passed away on the night of Saturday, January 30, after he was killed by a group of thugs as he headed back home.

According to a source close to the deceased, who spoke said, Magawe was on his way home from an upcoming film set when he was allegedly approached and killed by thugs.

The source added that Magawe, a resident of Kasarani area, was seemingly able to recognise one of the thieves moments before they killed him.

“So after handing them all that he had and complying with their demands, he seemed to notice one of the thieves and called out his name. So they decided to murder him instead,” the source said.

Magawe’s social media profile shows that he was not only aspiring to be the best in film but also in music as he described himself as a singer and songwriter.

Sadly, another Kenyan talent has now been allegedly lost to criminal activity by fellow youth who do not value the lives of others.

Some of his friends and colleagues took to social media to mourn his death while others called for the protection of cast members by the production companies.

Investigations are underway to find out what transpired and who could have killed the young actor. The late becomes the first artiste to lose his life in 2021 and hopefully the last, after a disastrous 2020 that saw Kenyan lose many of its great talents.

The so-called COVID-19 year saw Kenya lose the likes of Papa Shirandula, Othuol Othuol and Mzee Kihara to various diseases. Back in 2018, famous Auntie Boss actor Jamal Nasoor was killed by his girlfriend at a hotel following an argument.

Here are more heartfelt condolences to the talented theatre actor.
