SHOCK AS DEAD MAN FOUND STANDING IN A HOUSE HOLDING A TORCH.

Residents of Mwivona area in Marakusi sub location, Kakamega County are in shock after a body of a man was found in a house under construction.

According to resident, the body of a 30-year-old man was found hanging in a house while holding a torch in the hand.

His body was found on Tuesday morning, January 5, 2021 by a woman who had gone to fetch water from Lumakanda stream.

The deceased was identified as Patrick Lukungu.

Confirming the incident, Marakusi Sub Location Assistant Chief Edith Khakali said a woman drawing water at a nearby stream saw somebody who appeared to be standing inside a house that was under construction and became suspicious.

The administrator added that the woman decided to move closer after which she discovered that the body had a rope around the neck tied to the rafters.

The deceased’s father Daniel Makokha said he had been constructing the house with the decease the previous day.

Makokha said that the house has been in construction for the two days now.

He said that his son was well and he did not notice anything was disturbing him.

“we spent the day here constructing the house which I had decided to put up for him and he did not exhibit any signs of being disturbed,” he explained.

He said it was more shocking the deceased was holding a torch in the hand and appealed for thorough investigations.

The body was removed by officers from Lumakanda police station and taken to Kimbilio mortuary.
