50 YEAR OLD WOMAN BURNT SEVERELY WITH HOT PORRIDGE.

Judith Kangu, a small business trader who sells roasted maize was allegedly attacked at her house on the eve of Christmas, by a suspect identified as Jenipher Makungu.

Narrating her ordeal at her home, Kangu said the suspect who went missing immediately after committing the crime accused her of failing to offset the debt within agreed timelines.

The suspect allegedly went to the victim’s home on December 24, at around 6pm, and demanded to have her money. But Kangu is reported to have been financially strained and pleaded with her to give her more time to raise the money.

Makungu did however not listen, she picked hot boiling porridge, on a charcoal stove outside the house and showered the victim. Immediately after committing the crime, the suspect is reported to have fled, leaving the victim in deep pain.

Neighbors heard the woman groan and quickly rushed for her rescue. The victim wants action taken against the suspect, whose aim she said was to kill her.

Nakuru Town West deputy police commander Charles Rono said police detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are pursuing the suspect. Rono said the accused will be charged with attempted murder once she is arrested.
