People's Party of Kenya leader Ndindi Nyoro and People's Liberation Party leader Martha Karua have commented on recent US elections, drawing lessons for Kenya ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Nyoro said the US election results showed that voters could change political direction when dissatisfied with those in power. He linked this to Kenya's economic challenges, including rising public debt, unemployment and the high cost of living, arguing that these issues could influence the 2027 election.

He also criticised President William Ruto's administration, accusing it of using public resources to advance private business interests instead of addressing citizens' needs.

Karua said election outcomes in other countries should serve as a reminder to governments that voters expect their concerns to be addressed. She urged opposition leaders to set aside their differences, unite and focus on presenting an alternative based on economic recovery and better governance.

Both leaders emphasised the importance of addressing the concerns of ordinary Kenyans as the country approaches the next General Election.
