Speaking in defence of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader, Methu dismissed the accusations, arguing that Gachagua's outspoken nature should not be confused with intimidation. He maintained that the former Deputy President is simply a truthful leader.
The DCP Secretary General insisted that Gachagua commands the support of more than 10 million Kenyans, arguing that his popularity reflects the confidence ordinary citizens have placed in his political leadership and national agenda.
Methu accused Muturi and Matiang’i of unfairly targeting Gachagua instead of addressing the issues affecting Kenyans. He maintained that political leaders should concentrate on governance, accountability and the challenges facing ordinary citizens.
Defending Gachagua further, the senator described him as a leader who consistently speaks out against injustice and political dishonesty. He argued that confronting powerful individuals over their actions does not automatically make someone arrogant or a bully.
The Nyandarua senator also questioned whether Muturi and Matiang’i were qualified to lecture other politicians about democratic leadership, insisting that their respective records in government should also be subjected to public scrutiny.
Methu reaffirmed that the DCP party remains firmly behind Gachagua, dismissing suggestions that criticism from rival political figures would weaken the movement. He maintained that the party would continue pursuing its political ambitions.
