The wife of Ugandan opposition leader Kizza Besigye, Winnie Byanyima, has been appointed chair of the board of trustees of the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) announced the appointment on November 3 and congratulated Byanyima on her new role.
