Kenya has completed a KSh1.2 billion electricity transmission line linking Kitui and Wote, giving parts of eastern Kenya an alternative route for power supplies when existing lines are disrupted or taken out of service for maintenance.•The 66-kilometre, 132-kV line, commissioned on Monday by President William Ruto, connects two substations previously served through separate transmission routes.
