New revelations have emerged about what some of Dorita Lasinder Macharia's family members allegedly did after the 86-year-old woman was found dead at her residence in Nairobi's Loresho estate.

Dorita was discovered with several serious injuries, including deep cuts and a wound at the back of her neck. Detectives are still working to piece together the events that led to her death.

Court documents further revealed that Dorita had reportedly clashed with her granddaughter, Thandie Malaika Gitao, on Friday night.

The disagreement allegedly began after the elderly woman found Thandie in a compromising situation with her boyfriend inside the family residence.

Dorita was reportedly displeased with what she had witnessed and ordered her granddaughter and the friends who were visiting to leave the premises.

Four people have been arrested over their alleged involvement in the murder. They include Dorita's daughter, actress Regina Wambui Gitao, popularly known as Regina Re; her granddaughter, Thandie; and her sons, Alton Jimmy Macharia and Immanuel Munyeki.

The suspects were presented before the Kibera Law Courts, where prosecutors requested permission to hold them for 15 days to allow detectives to complete investigations.

Police informed the court that they were yet to retrieve CCTV recordings from the estate, interview additional witnesses, and obtain phone records belonging to the suspects.

However, defense lawyers challenged the request, arguing that investigators had not presented sufficient grounds to justify keeping their clients in custody for the requested period.

After considering the arguments, the court authorized detectives to detain the four suspects for 10 days at Gigiri Police Station instead of the 15 days requested.

The matter will return to court on November 12, 2026, as investigations into Dorita's death continue.

The allegations against the suspects remain unproven, and no conviction has been made.
