Murang’a nominated MCA Peter Mbogo is grieving the loss of his beloved mother, Mama Damaris Muthoni Kirumwa, who died at the age of 84.

In his tribute, Kang’ata said he was deeply saddened by the passing of Mama Kirumwa, whom he described as a devoted woman of faith who had positively influenced many lives in Kandara and neighbouring areas.

He noted that the deceased was highly respected in her community and had left behind a lasting legacy that would continue through her family, especially her son Peter Mbogo.

The governor also remembered Mbogo's contribution during the period he served as his personal assistant, praising him for his commitment, honesty and loyalty.

Kang’ata described the nominated MCA as a brother and extended his heartfelt sympathies to him and other members of the bereaved family.

He also conveyed condolences on behalf of the people of Kandara and Ithiru, praying that God would give the family courage, comfort and peace as they cope with the loss.

Ndungu Julius was among those who reacted, saying the news was heartbreaking while sending his deepest sympathies to the MCA and his loved ones.

Weston Njoroge also mourned with the family while expressing confidence in Mbogo's political journey ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Other social media users joined in offering prayers for the departed, asking God to grant her everlasting peace and strengthen those she had left behind.

Mbogo is among the political figures preparing for the 2027 General Election, in which he plans to contest for the Ithiru Ward MCA seat on a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket.

His mother's death has therefore come at a difficult moment for the nominated MCA, as friends, political leaders and members of the public continue to send messages of comfort to his family.
