Victor Wanyama has taken a major step beyond his playing days, completing the FIFA Players Executive Programme after 18 months of rigorous training.

The former Harambee Stars skipper received his certificate in Miami, United States of America, in June 2026, formally marking his entry into the world of football administration.
The programme, run by FIFA, is built specifically for active and retired players and coaches who are looking to shift into leadership and executive positions within the sport.
Graduates leave equipped with practical skills to manage football clubs, run leagues, or take up roles in football associations at the highest levels.

By completing the course, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic midfielder now belongs to a select group of world-class former players and industry professionals who have gone through the same curriculum.
The programme blends virtual learning with in-person sessions and includes real-life football case studies, interactive presentations, and club visits to give participants direct exposure to how modern football organisations operate.
The curriculum Wanyama tackled was particularly demanding. His studies covered Football Management, with a focus on youth development and leadership, as well as a Financial Planning module delivered in collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Both modules are considered cornerstones of the programme's offering for aspiring football executives.
Beyond technical football management, the programme placed considerable emphasis on the broader qualities needed to lead effectively off the pitch.

The 33-year-old Kenyan is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers the country has ever produced.
His club career took him from Celtic to Southampton, then Tottenham Hotspur, before spells in Major League Soccer with CF Montréal.
He also served as captain of the Harambee Stars national team, earning widespread respect across the continent.
His completion of the FIFA programme signals that Wanyama is positioning himself for a significant role in football's future, whether at club, league, or federation level.
