President William Ruto has announced that construction of a new airport in Nairobi is underway, promising that the facility will be completed within 18 months despite earlier delays and controversy surrounding the abandoned Adani Group proposal.Speaking at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), where he presided over the official opening of the five-day 2026 Industrialisation Summit, Ruto said the government had reorganised the project following challenges linked to the involvement of the Indian conglomerate.
