Betty Bayo's widower Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash, has broken his silence over allegations that he intended to misappropriate the KSh 10 million donated at the late gospel singer's burial, addressing the claims directly in a new video posted on November 3, 2026.
The donations came from Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who contributed KSh 5 million, and President William Ruto, who also contributed KSh 5 million, both amounts earmarked to support Bayo's children.
However, Bayo's former husband, controversial preacher Victor Kanyari, publicly accused Tash of having designs on that money.

Speaking during court proceedings, Tash explained that he had approached Kanyari with a proposal to channel the funds into a joint trustee account accessible only when the children turn 18.
He said the two met at a place he identified as Glee to discuss the arrangement.
He expressed frustration that Kanyari then took to social media claiming Tash wanted to set up an account solely to siphon the money for personal use.
Tash flatly denied this, saying he has his own finances and has not spent a single shilling of any brand earnings made through the children's content.

Tash also addressed a separate dispute over a house Kanyari allegedly claimed was located in Rwanda during court submissions.
Tash pushed back firmly, saying the property is situated in Kimbo, in an area he identified as Deke, and not in Rwanda as claimed.
Watch Tash address the Kindiki donation and custody dispute in full:
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke featured Tash after he responded to accusations that he had prevented Kanyari from accessing Bayo's children, saying video evidence available online shows him personally walking the kids to Kanyari's gate for visits.
He recalled one particular occasion when Kanyari returned the children the same evening, telling Tash the kids were "very nagging" and that Tash was "the only one who can be able to live with them."
Tash said he later confronted Kanyari about why he continued making access-denial claims online despite this, and Kanyari's response was blunt: "You don't have to worry about me. I'm a content creator."

Residents of Kasemeni village in Lunga Lunga, Kwale County, have threatened to return title deeds issued to them by President William Ruto a month ago, claiming the documents contain errors that undermine their land ownership rights.
The residents say the measurements recorded on the title deeds are smaller than the actual parcels of land they have occupied for years. They are now demanding that the government review the documents and conduct fresh surveys to reflect the correct sizes of their land.
Speaking to the media on Monday, October 2,2026 the residents said they were dissatisfied with the discrepancies and wanted the government to correct the documents before they could accept them.
John Kasim, a resident of Lunga Lunga, said some of the information on the title deeds was confusing, particularly the section suggesting that the documents would only be completed after payment of a fee, despite residents being told that the process had already been paid for.
“We do not understand these title deeds. They are not acceptable to us because the title itself says it will be completed only when the fee is paid, yet we were told that it had already been paid,” Kasim said.
He added that the residents were unwilling to keep documents whose details they could not fully understand.
Moses Makelele, a resident of Lunga Lunga said some residents had attempted to use the title deeds to seek loans from banks but were reportedly informed that the documents had no value for that purpose.
He said the outcome had dashed their hopes of using the title deeds to access credit and improve their livelihoods.
The residents argue that the documents should give them secure ownership and enable them to use their land as collateral where applicable.
Julius Kaema said the residents had decided to return the title deeds through their area chief, Mwenyasi, for onward submission to the Deputy County Commissioner in Lunga Lunga, kwale county.
“We are returning these title deeds to where they came from so that they can be corrected and we can get our rights,” Kaema said.
He urged the government to prioritise residents’ interests and ensure the land measurements are accurate before issuing corrected documents.
The residents insist they do not want additional land but want the sizes recorded on their title deeds to reflect the land they actually own.
They are now calling on the relevant government agencies to investigate the alleged discrepancies, conduct fresh measurements and issue corrected title deeds that accurately reflect their parcels.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has installed speed and surveillance cameras at strategic locations along major roads and highways, to strengthen traffic enforcement and curb the rising number of road accidents in the country.
The cameras linked to a National Command and Control Centre, are expected to facilitate real-time monitoring of traffic violations and automated detection of offences, allowing authorities to take swift action against motorists who flout traffic regulations.
NTSA Director of Cooperatives Affairs, Jacob Sisey, said the surveillance system was among several interventions the Authority had introduced to address increasing cases of road carnage, particularly as the country approaches the festive season when traffic volumes traditionally rise.
He cautioned motorists against reckless driving, urging them to exercise extra vigilance, observe traffic rules and remain mindful of other road users, to prevent avoidable accidents.
Speaking during a fundraiser for the construction of the sanctuary at St Francis Cheptarit Catholic Church in Nandi County, Sisey said motorists should ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and that all necessary documentations are in order before embarking on journeys.
He also called on parents and guardians to closely supervise their children during the long school holiday, warning against allowing underage learners, to drive vehicles or operate commercial motorcycles (Bodaboda).
Sisey said cases of children without driving licences taking vehicles onto public roads, with some engaging in boda boda operations, remained a concern that required greater parental responsibility.
"During the holidays, you find cases of children who do not have licences to drive on the roads, while others engage in boda boda business. I am appealing to parents to be on the lookout to curb this vice," he said.
He further urged youth operating motorcycles to obtain valid riding licences and observe traffic regulations, noting that road safety was a shared responsibility that required cooperation from motorists, passengers, pedestrians and parents.
According to NTSA statistics, road fatalities increased from 3,875 in 2019 to more than 5,100 in 2024, highlighting the growing burden of road crashes on families and the country.
Beyond loss of lives and injuries, road accidents are estimated to cost Kenya about Sh450 billion annually, through medical expenses, lost productivity and property damage, equivalent to approximately five per cent of the country's Gross Domestic Product.
Under the Traffic (Minor Offences) Rules, 2016, motorists exceeding the prescribed speed limit by between six and 10 kilometres per hour face a Sh500 fine, while those driving 11 to 15 kilometres per hour above the limit are liable to pay Sh3,000.
The penalty rises to Sh10,000 for motorists exceeding the speed limit by between 16 and 20 kilometres per hour.
The same penalties apply in designated 50-kilometre-per-hour zones and other areas where traffic signs prescribe lower speed limits.
The Kenya Kwanza administration boasts of a huge investment in education, having raised national funding to Sh784.5 billion for the 2026/27 financial year, up from about Sh500 billion in 2022. The allocation is spread across basic education, technical training, higher education and the stability of the teaching workforce.
The Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM) has raised alarm following the arrest of Trans Nzoia County Assembly Deputy Speaker Obed Mwale, accusing security officers of targeting its leaders in what it describes as politically motivated intimidation.
In a statement issued by its Head of Communication, Pauline Njoroge, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the party said armed police officers picked up Mwale in Kitale on Monday, November 2, before transferring him to Kapenguria Police Station in neighbouring West Pokot County.
Mwale, who represents Matisi Ward in the Trans Nzoia County Assembly, is accused by police of funding criminal activities and organising groups involved in disrupting political activities in the county, according to the statement.
Linda Mwananchi dismissed the allegations as politically motivated, arguing that the arrest was intended to intimidate and silence the MCA because of his political association and opposition activities.
“We strongly condemn the arrest of Trans Nzoia County Assembly Deputy Speaker, Matisi Ward MCA and Linda Mwananchi Senate aspirant for Trans Nzoia County, Hon. Obed Mwale, who was picked up by armed police officers in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, yesterday and later produced at Kapenguria Police Station in West Pokot County,” Linda Mwananchi Movement stated.
“According to the police, he is accused of funding criminal activities and organising goons. We reject these allegations as politically motivated and intended to intimidate and silence Obed, a very popular candidate who is challenging UDA’s Allan Chesang.”
The movement demanded his immediate release, insisting that its leaders should not be subjected to harassment for expressing their political views or working with Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.
It further claimed that Mwale’s arrest was part of a growing pattern of intimidation targeting leaders associated with Linda Mwananchi in the county.
The arrest comes against the backdrop of political tension in Kitale following an incident involving President William Ruto’s motorcade and a convoy carrying Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and members of the Linda Mwananchi movement on October 16.
Ruto had been in Kitale to preside over the launch of development projects when his motorcade and Sifuna’s convoy encountered each other near the Kitale flyover.
After the President left the area, Sifuna and Governor Natembeya addressed supporters before police officers moved in and dispersed the gathering using tear gas.
The National Police Service subsequently confirmed that two police officers had been injured and two government vehicles damaged during the confrontation.
In a statement issued after the incident, police said investigations had been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the violence and identify those responsible.
The police also warned that individuals found engaging in violence, sponsoring criminal gangs, inciting supporters or disrupting lawful gatherings would face action in accordance with the law. However, the NPS statement did not name Mwale or identify the politicians it was investigating.
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya also confirmed Mwale’s detention, saying the MCA was being held at Kapenguria Police Station ahead of an expected court appearance.
Natembeya linked the accusations against Mwale to the October 16 incident, including an alleged plan to obstruct the President’s motorcade during his Kitale visit.
The governor also said the MCA faced accusations of sponsoring groups involved in disrupting Kenya Kwanza political rallies in Trans Nzoia.
Mwale’s arrest comes amid an increasingly public political confrontation between Natembeya and the national government, particularly President Ruto’s administration.
The governor has been vocal in criticising the government, with disagreements emerging over development projects, political influence in the county and the withdrawal of his security detail.
In October, Linda Mwananchi challenged the Council of Governors to speak out over what it described as threats and intimidation facing Natembeya following changes to his security arrangements.
The dispute has also involved disagreements over the Ksh821 million Masinde Muliro Market project in Kitale, with competing claims over its implementation and ownership.
Linda Mwananchi has increasingly positioned itself as a political force ahead of the 2027 General Election. The movement recently unveiled a proposed national secretariat, with Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi named as its proposed chairperson and Natembeya designated to lead its presidential campaign structure.
Despite the arrest, the movement vowed not to abandon its political activities, saying it would continue mobilising supporters and challenging the government.
In her statement, Njoroge said the movement would soldier on in its quest to remove President Ruto from office, reclaim what it considers citizens’ rights and freedoms, and restore the rule of law.
The movement demanded justice for Mwale and called for his immediate release, maintaining that political differences should not be used to justify intimidation or unlawful arrests.
FIFA will release details of President Gianni Infantino’s aborted plan to sell off stakes in future World Cups to private investors, but they will not be shared with the public.
Reports in the British media said members of the FIFA Council, the main decision-making body of football’s world governing body, will be given access to “key documents” related to the proposal, named FIFA Forward Enterprise.
However, they can only view them under “strict protocols to preserve confidentiality”, the reports said. Those include the 37 members of the council having to register for an in-person appointment to view selected paperwork in Zurich, Switzerland, in the next two weeks.
The news came out late on Monday, the deadline European football’s governing body, UEFA, had set for FIFA to release details about the $4.2bn scheme and answer questions about how the proposal came about and who approved it before the plans were dropped in July amid a worldwide backlash.
UEFA set the deadline after a tense council meeting at which Infantino apologised for the proposal but provided no details about how the plan was formed. He asked council members to submit their questions in writing.
UEFA is leading attempts to remove Infantino before or at the FIFA presidential election on March 18 in Rabat, Morocco. Infantino, who was elected in 2016, is seeking a fourth term through 2031.
