A farmer in Kisumu has faced a deeply unsettling discovery, and it has arrived in three grim parts. Pigs have gone missing, a chicken has been found dead, and a human body has now been discovered as well, which has shaken an otherwise ordinary rural routine.
Mr Otiende has explained that the body has been dumped in a way that has made it hard to see from a distance. At first, only parts of the man's legs have shown, which means the discovery could easily have gone unnoticed.
Police have since reached the scene and have recorded what they have found. The man has a deep cut to his throat and a visible head injury. He has been wearing only underwear, with no trousers or any other clothing.
What connects the animals to the body has not been made clear. Nothing shared so far has tied the farmer to the death, and nobody has explained why the pigs have vanished or why the chicken has died.
Those loose ends have left neighbours with plenty to wonder about, and they have given investigators plenty to untangle.
Farming life has rested on routine for generations. A farmer has fed animals, checked on them and counted them each day, and that steady rhythm has made any change easy to spot.
For now, the man's identity has not been shared, and the circumstances of his death remain unclear. Police have yet to say who has done this or why.
Anyone who has noticed unusual movement in the area, or who has lost touch with a relative, can help by speaking to police, because even a small detail has often helped detectives move steadily forward.
