The meeting focused on strengthening the existing partnership between INTERPOL and Kenya, particularly in addressing criminal activities that cross national borders.

According to the DCI, the officials discussed several areas of cooperation, including improving financial investigations and enhancing the skills of law enforcement officers through capacity-building programmes.

They also reviewed the operational performance and daily activities of the National Central Bureau (NCB) Nairobi, which coordinates INTERPOL-related activities in Kenya.

Amin welcomed the continued support from INTERPOL and other regional security agencies, expressing appreciation for the cooperation extended to Kenyan investigators.

On his part, Fry reaffirmed INTERPOL's commitment to working closely with Kenya, noting that fighting transnational organised crime requires stronger intelligence sharing and joint investigations.

He identified money laundering, fraud and terrorism financing among the threats that require coordinated efforts between law enforcement agencies across different countries.

The INTERPOL official also emphasised the importance of continuous training and equipping officers with the necessary skills to respond to emerging security challenges.

The DCI said such cooperation remains important in confronting money laundering, fraud, cybercrime and terrorism financing through coordinated operations and intelligence exchange.
