Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya has announced that tickets for the much-anticipated Bayern Munich versus Ajax Amsterdam match will go on sale on Thursday, November 5, at 6pm.

Talanta Raila Odinga Stadium

The historic encounter, scheduled for January 5, 2027, will officially inaugurate the 60,000-seater Raila Odinga International Stadium at Talanta Sports City in Nairobi. In a statement, Mvurya confirmed that ticket prices would start at KSh2,500, with different categories available depending on where supporters wish to sit.

.ke has established that other tickets will cost KSh3,500, KSh5,000 and rise to KSh20,000 for selected sections of the stadium.

Tickets will be sold exclusively through the official Talanta Sports City website, with supporters warned against using unauthorised sellers.

Beyond the football encounter, the government is preparing a wider entertainment experience, including a 12-hour fan festival, international music performances, activities celebrating Kenyan sporting heroes and dedicated concierge services.

Mvurya also confirmed that skyboxes and premium hospitality packages would be available for supporters seeking exclusive matchday experiences.

The stadium's official platform provides for Platinum and Gold hospitality packages, while skybox bookings are handled through its dedicated hospitality contact.

The CS said the preparations were at an advanced stage, adding that the government wanted to deliver "an extraordinary sporting and entertainment experience of a scale and quality rarely witnessed on the African continent".

Mvurya further assured football fans that both clubs had committed in writing to fielding their strongest possible starting elevens.

He added that the encounter would bring elite European football talent to Kenyan soil. The CS also disclosed that the event is fully funded through private-sector support, describing it as evidence of growing corporate confidence in Kenya's sports industry.

According to Mvurya, the fixture will provide an opportunity to test stadium operations, security, transport, hospitality and crowd-management systems ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Kenya will co-host the continental tournament with Uganda and Tanzania.
