Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has condemned the attack on Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his delegation during a political tour of Migori County.
In a statement, Owino described the incident as an act of political intolerance and said violence had no place in a democratic society.
"I strongly condemn the cowardly and barbaric attack on Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka in Migori. Political intolerance, violence and hooliganism have no place in a constitutional democracy," he said.
Owino urged political leaders to resolve their differences through dialogue and democratic processes rather than intimidation.
"Our democracy must be defended through ideas, not violence; through dialogue, not intimidation; and through the ballot, not hooliganism," he added.
Kalonzo's convoy was attacked during the Migori tour, with stones reportedly damaging vehicles in the delegation. Police officers deployed teargas as tensions escalated.
