KenGen in High Court to stop Sh2.3bn tax on dividend

KenGen has gone to the High Court seeking to overturn a Sh2.35 billion claim from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in a legal battle that has lasted more than a decade.

The taxman’s claim was triggered by the power producer’s payment of a Sh5.7 billion dividend to the National Treasury on June 30, 2016.
