CHAOS AS MAINA NJENGA APPEARS IN COURT

Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga is expected to be arraigned at the Nakuru law courts anytime from now. Maina was last week presented to the DCI headquarters where he spent hours being grilled.

Today, he is expected to appear in court where he will answer to several criminal charges among them being a member of an organised criminal group.

Due to the sensitivity of his case, security has been reinforced around the Nakuru areas as well as roads leading to the Nakuru court where he will be arraigned.

In anticipation of the court appearance the Nakuru Law Court has implemented stringent security measures.

Roads leading to the court have been barricaded, causing restricted access, and anti-riot police officers are strategically stationed at various entry points.

In addition, police are stopping all vehicles and motorbikes using the route and searching the cars as well as questioning pedestrians on where they are heading.

A video shared by NTV showed officers stopping pedestrians and asking them several questions before one is let go. At a certain time, men have been seen removing caps before proceeding to their destination.
