MUKUMU GIRLS COOK FINALLY REVEALS WHAT THEY ADD IN FOOD THAT CAUSES POISON

A cook at Mukumu girl’s, Mr Douglas has shared his story about the possible causes of the situation that was at Mukumu Girls that might have led to the poisoning and thereafter death’s. He says that he was also a casualty, having carried githeri from the school one day to take to his family.

He lamented that the repercussions were so dire as he was in extreme pain in his stomach after taking the meal. Stains of blood would later be found in his stool, adding that he persevered the pain just because he is a man. He also added that he was helped by the alumnae of the school who remembered him as a truthful man.

He started by pointing out that he suspect’s the problem with the maize was the excessive use of preservatives. That the cook’s skipped the requisite process of cleaning, sun drying and sieving the maize before milling.

He narrates that initially, they used to add preservatives and eclose it then open it three month’s before use. So they had to sieve it and dry it out in the sun before using it again.

But then in recent times, the maize was preserved and just used after four days then taken straight to the mill. This is what he suspect’s might have caused the situation.

He also talks about water and adds that it was so discoloured that one could not even use it. But then they had no option. He laments.
