TEACHERS ANNOUNCES STRIKE FROM MONDAY.

The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education teachers Mombasa branch has notified the general public that they will be holding peaceful demonstrations on Tuesday 22nd of May 2023.

The demonstrations which will begin from 9 a.m. to around 10 a.m. will be against the intended introduction of housing levy as proposed in the finance bill 2023.

They have in the letter to the Coast Regional Commander noted that they will uphold the provisions of the constitution which gives them the right to assemble, demonstrate and picket In a peaceful manner.

According to the statement that they have written, the procession will begin from Pembe za Ndovu area all the way to Treasury Square and they have since asked the police to give them security.

The statement has also been copied to the Mombasa County commissioner, the county commander, the sub County commander and also the Central police station officer in command as well as the county director of education.
