PRESIDENT RUTO MAKES MAJOR APPOINTMENT

President William Ruto made a swift decision on Tuesday, May 16, as he nominated Faith Njeri to assume the role of Principal Secretary.

This nomination comes only a day after the president dismissed Josephine Mburu, the former Principal Secretary of Public Health, over allegations of corruption.

The nomination of Faith Njeri has been officially submitted to the parliament for consideration before her appointment can be finalized.

If approved, she will be appointed as the Performance Management Principal Secretary at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

The reshuffling of government officials continued with the transfer of Esther Ngero from the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to the position of Principal Secretary for Correctional Services in the Interior Ministry.

In addition to these changes, the Head of State re-assigned seven other Principal Secretaries as part of a comprehensive re-organization within the government. The objective of these changes is to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery across various sectors.

Furthermore, in the Ministry of Health, President Ruto appointed two new Principal Secretaries. This decision was made following the dismissal of Dr. Josephine Mburu, the Public Health Principal Secretary, and the re-assignment of Peter Kiplagat Tum.
