KENYATTA’S FAMILY MABATI HOUSES WHERE THEY COLLECT 250K MONTHLY

Apart from its distinctive moniker, nothing reveals this remote iron sheet estate in Kitengela along Namanga road in Kajiado County.

The remote mabati estate near Kitengela town is known by the name Kwa Uhuru. Before Uhuru Kenyatta entered politics, it was given his name.

The family of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta owns the undeveloped land on which the estate, which is two decades old, is located. The First Family receives income from these properties, which is collected by a caretaker and an agent working on their behalf.

Thus, the Kenyatta’s make roughly Sh250 000 a month on average. The majority of renters are employed by the adjacent carnation farm Exotic Penina Fields Group Ltd.

The remainder work at Maasai Flowers Limited and other fields and construction sites.

The homes are constructed in blocks and have porches on the front and space for vegetable plants in the front yards.

The inside, which includes a small bed, a table, two chairs, and cooking equipment, is not very noteworthy. Over 400 individuals reside on the estate in two to four tenants per unit.

A private company provides security officers for Kwa Uhuru’s entrance around-the-clock. Two taps share a borehole’s supply of water.
