FRESH DETAILS ON WHY CHERERA & 3 COMMISSIONERS DISAGREED WITH CHEBUKATI.

Justus Nyang’anya, one of the four IEBC Commissioners who distanced themselves from the declaration of William Ruto as the president-elect has given more details about what informed their decision.

In an affidavit responding to a petition by Raila Odinga and Martha Karua, which seeks to nullify Ruto’s declaration, Nyang’anya revealed that a foreigner identified as Gudino Omor had been active on the IEBC server since June 1, 2022 until when elections were concluded.

Nyang’ana said that it is easy to establish what Gudino was doing on the server since all his login details are available  but he is not aware how the foreigner got access to the server.

“I do not understand what a foreigner would be doing on the commission’s server during the election nor do I understand Gudino Omor was always busy on an IEBC server at night,” the IEBC Commissioner said.

Aside from Gudino, Nyang’anya said that 377 other people were given access to the IEBC server but the commission is not aware of their identity details.

There are also three other IEBC officials namely, Abdidahir Maalim, Moses Sunkuli and Gideon Balang who accessed the servers. According to Nyang’anya, the three played the role of pulling down some of the results uploaded on the portal and immediately uploading other results.

“These are the same officers who were helping the second respondent(Chebukati) to unilaterally process the results that were subsequently declared by the second respondent,” the commissioner claimed.

Nyang’anya said that he does not understand why the individual would pull down the already uploaded results  adding,  “That I am also aware that after the Previously pulled down results were uploaded afresh, there would be amendments to forms 34B.”

Nyang’anya, Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi and Irene Masit were directed to file individual responses to Raila’s petition after distancing themselves from the final presidential results.
