CS MAGOHA ANNOUNCES NEW SCHOOL OPENING DATES

Education CS George Magoha has announced a fresh opening date for all basic education schools after an early closure.

Magoha announced the change in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to the CS, the ongoing tallying of votes process at most institutions informed the government’s decision to postpone the school’s opening date to Monday.

“We have however been informed that the process of tallying of ballots may still be ongoing on the aforementioned date.

Therefore, following further consultations, I hereby convey the Government’s decision that Basic Education Institutions will re-open from Monday, 15th August 2022,” the statement read.

Magoha apologised for any inconveniences caused by the changes and emphasised that the latest communication supersedes his initial statement.

“We apologize for any inconvenience occasioned by these changes and ask for your indulgence, as we work through ensuring the safety and comfort of learners through this period,” Magoha said.

“This communication supersedes any earlier communication on the re-opening of basic education institutions.”
