DISAPPOINTING:4 REASONS WHY GACHAGUA OUTSHINED DP RUTO IN PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE.

Deputy president William Samoei Ruto on Tuesday disappointed Kenyans after he performed dismally in the just concluded presidential debates.

Ruto has been very articulate in the political rallies and Kenyans expected him to perform extraordinarily but he doyen performed dismally according to most netizens.

In fact, his disappointing performance made his supporters recall about his runningmate Mathira member of parliament Rigathi Gachagua who was very fluent and articulate when she came face to face with the Azimio runningmate Martha karua.

“The blackout affecting most parts of the country will help Ruto. Atleast in the morning people won’t be talking about how much he flopped at the debate by evading questions with half truths and diverts. People will be talking about how government is harrasing him. Otherwise hiyo stima ingekosa kuzima my friend it would have injured Ruto’s chances seriously. Rigathi is poor at rallies good at the debate, Ruto is good at rallies poor at the debate. That’s just it. Raila is good at rallies, good at debates.” Said Mr. Morara, a political analyst.

The first reason why Rigathi did better than Ruto in the debate is because he faced questions head on and answered them with a straight face unlike his boss who was trying to evade most of the questions that he was asked by the panelists on Tuesday night.

Citizen TV journalist Yvone Okwara at some point put Ruto to task to answer questions about governance and the corruption regarding the Arror and Kimwarer but he gave very unconvincing answers going by the panelists’ facial reactions.

The second reason why Ruto performed dismally is because of the distraction by the absence of Raila Odinga. Previously, Rigathi Gachagua shined in the debate since he literally pinned Martha karua down as he portrayed her a project under the state capture.

Karua struggled to respond to some of those questions since it was very difficult to hold a brief for president Uhuru Kenyatta as she was being cornered by Rigathi.

However, Ruto did not get the opportunity to attack Raila Odinga and tie him directly to state capture since he was not in the debates. In fact, majority believe that if Raila attended the debate, then Ruto would have gotten a punching bag and he could have definitely won the argument against the ODM leader.

The deputy president also lost the opportunity to be compared with Raila by being ranked the best after the debate like was done in the past where Kenya Kwanza supporters started running narratives that Gachagua outshined Karua.

Most importantly, Rigathi successfully linked the failure of Uhuru’s government to the handshake unlike Ruto who did not convince listeners that he is not in the current regime like he has always claimed in political rallies. Notably, Yvonne was very categorical with Ruto by constantly reminding him that this was his regime where he was the second in command. Those sentiments by Okwara left Ruto confused on who really to blame for the Uhuruto Jubilee failure.
