HUGE BLUNDER GACHAGUA DID

Kenya Kwanza running mate Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday faced Martha Karua in the deputy presidential debate at Catholic University.

During the debate however, Gachagua made a series of mistakes that  could have a negative impact on Kenya Kwanza during the elections especially when it comes to trust issues.

First of all, he proved that he is about to become a billionaire yet his party is keen on fighting the interests of a hustler.

The question raised is how he will be able to protect the interests of hustlers when he is swimming in millions and especially when he is facing corruption allegations. How will people believe that he is not keen on advancing his personal interest?

Gachagua broke down how he made the millions that are in his frozen account, believed to be proceeds of embezzlement of public funds without any proof that that is how made his millions. His case is still pending in court whereby he is believed to have embezzled up to 12.5 billions of public funds.

“My account did not receive billions that is propaganda, I have 200 million, that is the money that is being held. I don’t have billions, I am worth 800 million, minus the 200 million that they are holding and another 600 million,” the deputy president hopeful noted.

His reaction when the matter of how his team finances their campaign was also brought up raised some doubts among Kenyans.

Rigathi claimed that he was not getting the moderator a couple of times because the sound on his earpiece was not working. It is however not clear if  his action was deliberate because the debate went on without the earpiece being checked and he was able to respond to the rest of the questions.

Another thing is that Gachagua could not tell the price of kerosene therefore making it clear that he does not relate with the lifestyle of a common citizen. When asked the question he said he does not go to supermarkets. Being unable to understand and being in touch with citizens’ lifestyles is what has make politicians unable to solve issues affecting normal Kenyans

Aside from that, Gachagua took time to fight President Uhuru Kenyatta so much instead of focusing on his opponents who are Raila Odinga and Martha Karua and all he made were mere allegations that would not help him or his team win more votes.

“President Uhuru has no plan to retire, he is crafting his succession through Raila Odinga… he will continue to govern this country outside his Constitutional mandate,” Gachagua said during the debate.

His posture was also not a good gesture as he seemed to be leaning away from his opponent as if he wanted to give her his back with some netizens saying that he feared her. On other hand, Martha Karua was calm and very composed unlike him.
