WAJACKOYAH SUPPORTS RAILA ODINGA

Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah is among the factors that will help Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga ascend to the throne, Kenyans have been told.

Wajackoyah, a controversial lawyer, is among the four candidates cleared by the IEBC to run for the top seat, the others being Raila, Deputy President William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza alliance and Mwaure Waihiga.

Political analyst Charles Nyambuga says that Wajackoyah will help Raila win in August, by splitting the youth vote which Ruto, Raila’s main competitor, seems to be heavily banking on for his victory.

The Maseno University don argues that Ruto has crafted his campaigns as a youth affair, and is unlikely to get the remaining vote, but Wajackoyah is also reasonating very well with the same youths.

“Among those who have registered, he is going to share them with presidential contender George Wajackoyah who is resonating well with the youth,” the commentator told The Star.

He said that with most of the registered voters being above 40, Raila has an upper hand, as most are likely to vote for him who is an elder. He also says that most youths aren’t registered voters, a blow for Ruto.

“With people older than age 40 being in the majority vote, Azimio has a higher chance of winning since Ruto has invested more in the youth,” he further says.

He is as well of the opinion that the Upper Eastern region is now a battleground and not Ruto’s stronghold, after he refused to make Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki his running mate.
