MUSALIA MUDAVADI DUMPS DP RUTO

ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi has come out to refute any possibility of forming a coalition party with Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA or any other party within the Kenya Kwanza Alliance ahead of the August election.

Mudavadi made the remarks on Saturday soon after Kenya Kwanza welcomed Democratic Party led by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi into their fold.

Mudavadi’s sentiment also came hours before the official closing date for parties to form or join a coalition party.

“I want to make it clear that the alliance will not submit anything today (Saturday, April 9) so that there is no conflict or confusion. We are going in as a Coalition of Parties, and not a Coalition Party,” Mudavadi said.

Mudavadi said that the move was meant to still open doors for other parties willing to join Kenya Kwanza to still come in even after the closing period.

“As much as we work as a coalition, they must also stand out and have their identity, and that is why we are going in as a Coalition of Parties,” he said.

Mudavadi also hit out at their competitors in Azimio One Kenya Alliance accusing them of oppressing perceived smaller political parties.

“Us in Kenya Kwanza, we’re saying there is room for that recognition,” the ANC boss said.

The move not to form a coalition party by the Kenya Kwanza brigade now means that the parties within the coalition will ensure that they win a significant number of elective seats in the coming elections so that they can get political parties’ funds.
