RUTO DOES THIS SHOCKING THING WHILE IN THE US

Deputy President William Ruto has on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, implored on the global community to help Kenya curb attempts to rig the upcoming General Elections.

The DP, who was speaking at the Karson Institute for Race, Peace and Social Justice in Loyola University in Maryland, claimed that certain government agencies are being used to influence the decisions of the electorate.

The presidential hopeful, who is on a 10-day tour of the US and the UK, further stated that the government, through a particular group of state functionaries, is blackmailing, intimidating and using the criminal justice system to manipulate politicians opposed to its stance in the presidential contest.

“As a leader, I have taken the position to speak against any attempts to try and straightjacket people into predetermined outcomes.

We would have expected to do this without the baggage of blackmail and intimidation that is going on but unfortunately, that is where we are,” Ruto said.

The second-in-command further raised concerns on the state of democracy in the country, claiming that it is currently under threat.

“There is a huge pushback by citizens against any attempts to choreograph the next dispensation. We want to make our choices without being chaperoned, blackmailed or intimidated,” Ruto added.
