WYCLIFFE OPARANYA TALKS ABOUT JOINING WILLIAM RUTO

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has set the record straight after talk was rife that he is warming up for the Kenya Kwanza Coalition.

Rumuors of Oparanya’s shift of allegiance to the coalition affiliated to Deputy President William Ruto rocked social media following his absence from Azimio La Umoja rallies in his Western Kenya turf.

The county head, who doubles up as the Deputy Party Leader of the Orange Democratic Party, was forced to clear the air stating that he spent his Friday evening attending a Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Board meeting.

“Spent the day attending Rt Hon Raila Odinga’s Presidential Campaign Board meeting in Nairobi.

I urge Azimio supporters to ignore propaganda being spread by my detractors who are uncomfortable with Azimio wave sweeping the country & my firm stand behind Baba’s bid for the presidency,” his statement read.

The Orange Democratic Party also debunked the decamping talks reiterating that Oparanya was holed up in a Raila Campaign Board meeting as opposed to the information that was doing rounds on social media platforms.

“Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya
is a member of the Raila Campaign Board chaired by Governor of Laikipia County HE Nderitu Mureithi.

The board has been meeting the whole of this afternoon & Governor Oparanya was in attendance.

Ignore rumors being spread by busybodies who have run out of ideas,” the political outfit’s statement read.
