ANOTHER CS RESIGNS

Transport Chief Administration Secretary (CAS) Wavinya Ndeti is now ready for a faceoff with UDA chairman Johnson Muthama for the Machakos gubernatorial contest in the August polls after she officially resigned today.

Ndeti who is popularly known for her “Yaliyo Ndwele Sipite” phrase says she is ready to rejoin politics having helped the Transport Ministry achieve strides and by improving the economic status of the country.

In her remarks after resigning from the CAS position, Ndeti stated it’s time for her to serve the people of Machakos.

“My dream is to serve my Machakos people to fully exploit their natural and creative resources. I am ready to take Machakos to the next level,” she said.

Ndeti who has been a CAS for two years resigned a few days after the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua issued a notice detailing the deadline for the resignation of public servants seeking elective positions.

All public servants contesting for elective positions in the upcoming polls are supposed to have resigned by Wednesday next week.

She first contested for the position she is eying in 2013 and 2017 but lost to incumbent governor Alfred Mutua who has declared interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Besides Muthama, Ndeti will also be facing Nzioka Waita, Machakos County Assembly Speaker Florence Mwangangi and Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau.
