ASANTE UHURU: GOVT TO DONATE BILLIONS OF MONEY TO THESE KENYANS.

Over one million persons are set to benefit from the money which will be credited into their accounts starting Monday.

The Government is making this payment through Cooperative Bank, Equity Bank, Kenya Commercial Bank, Post Bank, Kenya Women Finance Trust and National Bank.

The government has disbursed Ksh.8.9 billion towards cushioning orphans, the erdely and persons with severe disabilities.

Public Service and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Margaret Kobia, through a statement dated Friday, stated that over one million persons are set to benefit from the money which will be credited into their accounts starting Monday.

“The funds have been credited to the accounts of 1067805 Inua Jamii beneficiaries with payment expected to start on January 18, 2022,” stated Kobia.

“The Government is making this payment through the six contracted banks namely: Cooperative Bank, Equity Bank, Kenya Commercial Bank, Post Bank, Kenya Women Finance Trust and National Bank.”

CS Kobia noted that Ksh.8.5 billion of the amount will be channeled to the Inua Jamii Programme which seeks to provide the vulnerable groups with a stipend to mitigate economic hardships.

An additional Ksh.13 million shillings will go towards the Nutrition Improvements through Cash and Health Education (NICHE) program, while Ksh.400 million will be channeled to the Presidential Secondary School Bursary.

Beneficiaries are also set to receive Ksh.8,000 as payment for the months of March, April, May and June 2022.

Kobia further advised beneficiaries that the money will remain in their accounts for six months and thus they, as precaution against COVID-19, should not crowd banks and other payment points at once.
