DETAILS OF PRIVATE PHONE CALL NGILU RECEIVED THAT MADE HER MISS A TOP MEETING.

In the recent past, political divisions among Ukambani political leaders have emerged which has left many questions on the way forward for the vote rich region.

As the divisions escalate, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been accused of failing to provide political direction to local residents ahead of the August 9, 2022 general elections.

On Wednesday, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, failed to attend a meeting convened to unite local leaders in Machakos, a situation that left many speechless.

Her failure to attend the top meeting is despite the fact that the meeting was convened by Ms Ngilu in collaboration with governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni).

After her missing, Ms Ngilu’s Personal Assistant said the politician failed to attend the meeting after she fell ill.

Top sources have told Taifa Leo that governor Charity Karuki Ngilu failed to attend the meeting after she received a call from the Wiper Democratic Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

The two allegedly spoke at a time when other politicians inside Mr Musyoka’s circle had announced that a meeting of Ukambani leaders would be held in Yatta on Saturday.

Led by Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, the politicians dismissed allegations that the Machakos rally was aimed at strategizing to strip Mr Musyoka off Ukambani political power.

“Mr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka remains the main political leader and spokesman for the Ukambani area. We would like to tell the people who make the allegations that they are lying to Kenyans, ”the senator told a news conference at Wiper headquarters, Karen, Nairobi.

He added: “We are the leaders from the area and we tell them that Kalonzo is not threatened by anyone.”
